Since April 2023, FairWork partners in the international project I-Claim. This project investigates the living and working conditions of migrant households with precarious legal status in Europe.
Domestic workers are those workers who perform work in or for a private household or households. They provide direct and indirect care services, such as cleaning, cooking, taking care of children or working in the garden.
In January 2021, the two year project Hidden at Work – Labour and sexual exploitation and harassment of women in the (private) work sphere started.
Most European countries have legal provisions for victims of crime to claim compensation or to otherwise be compensated for material and non-material damages. However, even when the legal framework is in place, the rights of people who were victim of trafficking or other crime to actually seek and obtain compensation remains difficult or impossible to exercise in practice.
